NCAA Picks
Well, the time has come - it's basketball all day Thursday through Sunday for weeks on end! I think it may be O's favorite time of year. I have to admit, I really like the NCAA basketball tournament as well. All the games are so close and exciting! I'm doing so-so with my picks so far. I was really sweating it out as O gave me the play by play of the Boston College/Pacific game (I have BC going to the elite 8 for goodness sakes!) on my drive home from work. I picked the Montana and Alabama upsets and also got Florida correct, but I messed up with Wichita State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Let's go Duke! :)
Anyway, today O, Roxy and I went for a run when I got home from work. We drove to the trail. I've been a little frustrated with my running lately. I feel sooooo out of shape and I know it's because I am. It's hard to get in shape (after not running for about 6 months) when you only get out twice a week. I miss being able to run an easy 8 mile run at 7:30 pace and not thinking much of it. I was a little encouraged by today, we ran 60 minutes (actually 60:12 to be exact) by running out in around 7:50-8 minute pace and back in 7:25-7:30 pace. I really have to concentrate to run 7:30 pace though and it tires me out pretty good. I know I have to be patient but that's a hard thing to do when it comes to running!
My feet are hanging in there. They don't feel like a million bucks by any means but they allow me to run a couple times a week and that's all that I can ask. I also have a blister on the back of my heel that I got on our rainy Sunday run, but it seemed okay today. It hurts now after the fact but didn't bother me too badly while I was running.
And that's that! I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. I will look forward to not having much to do this weekend (other than ANOTHER paper to write for my class)!
