Long Run, Long Day
Today has felt like a really long day. I'm not sure why - work was fine, nothing too hectic, just your usual every day work experience. When I got home, O, Roxy and I headed to the trail to do our long run for the week. My goal was to run 75 minutes and that's exactly what we did. We ran out for 38 minutes and back in 37. I'm calling it 9.5 miles which is probably right on. I didn't look at every mile split like I usually do so I'm not exactly sure our pace but the 2 random splits I did look at put us right at 7:50-8 minute pace. I wanted to take it a little easier today than my usual Thursday runs. Things worked out pretty well like that.
Now I'm home, showered, stretched and have eaten dinner. I feel like laying on the couch for the rest of the night and watching tv. Alas, I don't think that was meant to be. I have a few items on the to-do-list to tackle yet tonight, although I think the item entitled "homework" might not get touched. I'm so bad.
My feet have been a little on the sore side lately. They usually never bother me when I'm running but I can tell they've been more tender in the mornings when I wake up, and just walking around the hospital, etc... I'm not sure if that's from adding on distance (to the long runs) or the 3rd run on Tuesdays. I'll definitely have to keep my eye on them. I can handle a certain level of pain but I don't want to do anything that will cause irreversable damage.
And on that note, it's time to get to that to-do-list... Hope everyone has a great start to their weeks!
