Time Trial #2
About 3 weeks ago I did a 600 yd time trial in the pool. It was fun because I had nothing to compare it to. Well this morning (before work) I headed to the pool to undertake time trial #2, a tougher task knowing what I had to live up to (which was exactly 600 yds in 9:52).
I started with my usual warmup (400 yd easy, 200 yd kick easy, 200 yd easy) and then set off on my task and 600 yds later exactly 9:51 had passed. Wow - how about that for improvement?! :) Actually, as long as I wasn't slower I don't much mind. :) Perhaps my goal for the next 600 yd trial will be to get under 9:45. :)
After the 600 hard I swam an easy 100 yds and then did 6x50 yd kick hard and a cooldown (300 yd easy, 200 yd kick easy, 200 yd easy) for a total of 2500 yds, about 50 minutes and one tired body. I think the extra long run yesterday made me sore!
It was nice to come home today from work (albeit about 2 hours later than usual) and just eat dinner. There is something to be said for working out in the morning, but there is also something to be said for going into work early and missing rush hour traffic. A nice balance is probably the best approach.
So now O and I, being the wild and crazy partiers that we are, have decided on this Friday night to (1) give the dog a bath (complete) (2) diagnose the eitology of the puddles we keep finding under out kitchen sink (in process) and (3) do our taxes (not yet started). I'm actually looking forward to doing our taxes because I think we may get some money back and that's very exciting.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
