An Unsettling Trend

In the past 4 days (1) a sophomore at the school where O teaches passed away after a battle with leukemia (2) the daughter of a friend at work commited suicide (3) the husband of another aquaintance at work died of gastric cancer (4) a long time nurse in the ER died suddenly of a heart attack. It's a bad trend for sure. Did I mention that I work in a hospital where people die all the time? Occasionally it makes me want to work as a wedding planner or something of the sort, where only happy things happen...

Regardless, I'm still healthy and alive (thank God!) and went spinning this afternoon after work. Pretty standard spinning class. I was working pretty hard and my quads really hurt. I also did my core and feet exercises.

On Kembie's suggestion I bought Following the Flame and it arrived in the mail yesterday afternoon. What a treat! This will easily be one of the 4 books I read this year and I may even finish it before February is over. That is quite a complement to the book considering it usually takes me upwards of 3 months to finish something half it's size.

I am so sorry to hear about all of the bad news you have had in the last week. Even though you work in a place where you are surrounded with bad news on a regular basis, you maintain a very positive outlook on life.
