Brick Workout
I don't know if I'm actually using this term correctly, but I believe I did a triathlete's brick workout this morning - a swim and then a bike. Eventually I'd like to focus more on the bike to run brick but I first have to get my feet strong enough to attempt such things.
O and I went to the YMCA this morning where I first headed to the pool (while he was playing basketball in the gym and lifting). I did a shorter and easier workout than yesterday.
400 yd easy
200 yd kick easy
200 yd easy
5 sets of 100 yd hard, 2x50 yd kick hard w/10 sec rest and 1 minute rest between sets
200 yd easy
That was only 2000 yds total and only 1000 yds of hard intervals.
After that I changed and had about a 5 minute break before my spinning class started. O joined me at spinning. My quads were kind of tired again but otherwise the spinning was fine. There was a guy in the class that looked like a bona fide cyclist. He had biking shorts with KONA on them. I wanted to ask him if he was a triathlete but didn't. I could not believe how quickly he was pedaling during class. It was amazing how fast his feet were moving! :)
And now after coming home, showering and stretching, eating lunch and doing some odds and ends, I think it's about time for a nap. We don't have much planned for the afternoon which is just the way I like it!
Summary for the week:
Sunday - 44 min walk/jog w/30 minutes running, core and feet exercises
Monday - 45 min biking and weights
Tuesday - 1 hour spinning, core and feet exercises
Wednesday - off (class)
Thursday - 42 min walk/jog w/32 minutes running and weights
Friday - 3000 yd swim w/4 sets of 100/200 and 6x50 kick hard, 2x25 pushups and 2x100 crunchups
Saturday - 2000 yd swim w/5 sets of 100/2x50 kick, 1 hour spinning, core and feet exercises
PS Last night O and I watched Cindarella Man and it was EXCELLENT! I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone, sports lovers or not.

ok. very weird. my grandma and i watched Cinderella Man (which I had never even heard of) on Thursday night. it WAS excellent. and it's so nice to see a movie taking place in NJ!

Roxy and I completed Beth's "triathalon" workout by doing a three mile run as soon as we got back from the YMCA.
