Let the Holidays Begin!
Soooooooo happy that I have a break from work, family all in town, and Christmas is fast approaching! And it's not even that cold here (despite all the complaints from my Southern living family including North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida :).
This morning I headed to the pool. I had the day off work so I got to sleep in until 6:30 am! I did the following workout:
400 yd easy
200 yd kick easy
200 yd easy
10x100 yd hard w/10-15 sec rest
500 yd easy
200 yd kick easy
This has been my longest pool workout - 2500 yd total with 1000 yd hard. I was really breathing hard on the last 2-3 100 repeats. I equated the workout to doing 400s on the track. You start out feeling good and fully catching your breath on the rests, progressing to feeling quite tired and still breathing very hard when it's time to go again on the next interval!
Yesterday I kind of ran out of time to go to the YMCA. After I got home from work I was totally beat and "needed" a nap. After all, my motto is, "when in doubt, take a nap". :) By the time I got up O and I had to get cracking on cleaning up the house before my sister and her husband arrived from North Carolina. And the YMCA got squeezed out. Oh well. Worse things have happened. I will actually be taking the next two days off as well because they YMCA is closed. Again, worse things have happened. :)
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! Merry Christmas! :)
