Fantasy Draft Picks

Here they are!

Beth's A Team

Victoria Mitchell Butler
Shannon Rowbury Duke
Arianna Lambie Stanford
Caroline Bierbaum Columbia
Stephanie Madia Notre Dame
Amy Hastings Arizona State
Cassie Hunt Illinois

O's A Team

Johanna Nilsson NAU
Fiona Crombie Providence
Cack Ferrell Princeton
Heidi Magill BYU
Molly Huddle Notre Dame
Clara Horowitz Duke
Alyson Kohlmeier Michigan

We also each picked B teams which we determined could push out an A team member if they placed lower (as in they placed "better"). We shall see, although I obviously think I have the far superior team! (of course I also thought that the past two years!) We also pick which conferences and regions we think will "win". I'll spare you all those details. :)

Today O and I both went to the YMCA after I got home from work. He played basketball in the gym while I did the elliptical for 45 minutes and then we both lifted. He hasn't lifted for a while so he's going to be S-O-R-E tomorrow! The Pitt gym has far better facilities but it's fun to lift with O too. We'll probably do it once a week or so, and then I'll lift the other day at Pitt.

Roxy is running around with her squeaky ball right now. She usually makes the thing squeak when nobody is paying attention to her. Hmm...maybe I need a squeaky ball at work... :)

I think you've got the stronger team, as well. But there are always surprises, and I wouldn't mind seeing Crombie do well since I have to cook up something for New England Runner. (I guess a Lambie win would make a good NER story, too...)

I am surprised neither of you picked Christine Bolf from Colorado for the A team, but I think they are both solid. Can't wait to hear who wins!

Christine Bolf and Liza Pasciuto are on our B teams (I have one, Oscar has the other) - I think probably a mistake seeing as how I envision at least one (if not both) finishing higher than 14th place. There are just so many good people to choose from - too hard! :)

I agree that you picked better than O. But yeah, you never know! I think it's interesting (and cool) that you chose to do this for the women's race, because most people who do this kind of thing for one gender (assuming there are other people who do this) probably just focus on the men.

Just a recap from the past two years:

2004: O - 28, Beth - 58

2003: O - 18 (that's right, 18!!), Beth 53

Most of it's been luck, so we'll see if it continues!
