Getting back on schedule
I had such a hard time getting up this morning. I stayed up late reading Runner's World and then couldn't fall asleep for a little while. Generally it is impossible for me to stay up late reading anything because I nod off after about ten minutes, so I think my body is still adjusting to the post-vacation work schedule. Luckily my commute downstairs to the bike was quick so I managed to get in a decent trainer ride (season finale of "Dexter" and the rest of that behind-the-scenes "Real World" show). My Achilles didn't feel too much different than yesterday, but again, it wasn't worse.
I read in the aforementioned issue of RW (which I think has gotten better recently) about kinesio-taping for injuries including Achilles tendonitis. I have never done too well with taping but I am going to try it while biking and see if it makes a difference. I think it is going to be difficult to do it right but I am going to try tonight.
I had to laugh at the gym tonight when I heard a couple of other regulars grumbling about the "resolution crowds." It's so true...but again I snagged an upright stationary bike and didn't have too much trouble getting the weights I wanted.
Matt's away for a couple of nights so I am going to take advantage of the quiet (i.e. lack of conversation/entertainment!) and try to go to sleep early.
