Solitary Sunday

I thought it would be wise to cross train this morning after two days of running, so I was out of bed and onto the bike. I watched a couple of episodes of "30 Rock"--my latest Netflix show--and then caught up on Thursday night TV from this week. I can't say anything was too exciting, either on screen on on the bike, but I got in a decent workout and was kept fairly entertained. My Achilles/side of foot thing bothered me now and then but nothing too uncomfortable.

I spent most of the day at a friend's house in Virginia at her annual cookie-baking party. All but one of the other women there were runner friends of ours, but now that we have all "grown up" and gotten injured/had kids/moved away etc. we barely see each other. It was so much fun to catch up with everybody--not to mention getting to leave with a whole bucket of cookies. I can't say my own cookies came out too well (in fact, they turned out more like scones for some reason) but everyone seemed to enjoy them anyway.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with a busy, pre-holiday week coming up. Hope everyone stays well and accomplishes a lot!
