A little of everything

It felt good to sleep in for the second day in a row (though this time I did have my alarm to remind me when it was getting time to wake up.) I know from experience that my knee does better when I work on my stride as many days in a row as I can, rather than taking a bunch of days off. But I knew that it wouldn't be a good idea to run any longer than 45 minutes...so that's what I did, and then I jumped on the bike for a bit when I got back.

I just wanted to go out and back somewhere that wasn't too hilly for my short run, and I ended up in a neighborhood that is one of the ritziest in Bethesda...and walking distance to anywhere you'd want to go in the downtown part of Bethesda, which is awesome. I knew it was fancy because we couldn't afford to even look there when we were on the market for a house, but I was amazed at how large the houses were on the street I was on this morning. Just humongous, and many were really modern and neat. I bet some Washington VIPs live in the neighborhood...I just wish I knew who!

I watched Britney Spears' recent tell-all MTV show while I was biking. It really wasn't that revealing but with my interest in all things celebrity, I enjoyed it! Definitely passed the time.

I spent a little time this afternoon doing work (I was supposed to be officially on vacation starting tomorrow but it looks like I'll be going in to the office) and then a LOT of ironing that had been piling up for weeks...or months, actually, since there were some summer skirts in there. It felt good to get it done.

Tonight I am making some potato latkes for the first night of Chanukah. Even not-great latkes are usually delicious so I hope mine turn out all right. Happy Chanukah!
