Prospect Park revisited

We made pretty good time last night on our trip up to New York--there was some traffic, but it cleared once we got out of Maryland/Delaware and into New Jersey. We arrived right around midnight and I pretty much went right to sleep. I got to sleep in until about 8 and then I met up with my Brooklyn running buddy T for a loop of Prospect park. He had just run Philly on Sunday so we made a pact to take it easy (he didn't believe me that I am still slower than normal).

The weather wasn't as warm as last Thanksgiving , but it was pretty pleasant for November in New York. We ran the 2ish miles to the Park, did a loop and then took a slightly less direct route back. It was great to catch each other up on what's been going on in our lives and (for me) to run in one of my favorite places. I struggled a bit on some of the hills--and our pace kept picking up--but we managed to slow down when one of us felt uncomfortable and it ended up being a nice run. My knee bothered me a bit at the beginning and was a bit twingey throughout but what else can I expect?

Even though we did the bulk of our travel yesterday, I found myself on the road again mid-day driving from Brooklyn to Westchester. There were a ton of cars on the road and it took forever. I met my dad at work and then we went across the street to his gym. My mom met us there about an hour later (she got "caught" at a sale at Lord & Taylor). I biked for a bit and then lifted. It was weird doing my routine with a different cast of characters, but I was glad to have the opportunity. Matt met us for a quick dinner after that and now we are in for the evening.

Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!
