Brrr and ouch

I fell asleep pretty much immediately last night--I was definitely exhausted from my long day. It was nice to be able to sleep in. It was so sunny when I woke up that I forgot it would be cold when I got outside! I was excited to run though and had no indication that my knee would give me any trouble today. But it bothered me from half a mile in--not anything worse than usual or out of the ordinary, just the nagging pinch again. It sort of came and went so I was able to enjoy myself for parts of the run, but overall it just added to my frustration about how inconsistent things have been. I even stretched really well before I headed out, and this was a route I've done many times before (my usual Saturday Chevy Chase loop). I just don't get it.

My legs felt super tight when I got home so I biked for just a few minutes very very easily to try and loosen them up. Unfortunately it didn't help too much. I spent the next hour or so tidying up and then I went to run a couple of errands and pick Matt up at Dulles. His plane was actually a half-hour early and I only found out when he landed, so he was waiting a bit for me.

This evening we went to our neighbors' house for what I hear is their traditional pre-Thanksgiving get-together. We met some more of our neighbors and it was really fun. Three different neighbors described the 'hood as a "throwback" because people are so friendly and social. So nice!
