Shuffle Sunday

I wanted to run today (as in what I do at a slow pace on the treadmill) but I was feeling lazy about going to the gym. I figured I have to eventually see if I can replicate my new stride outside, so why not try it today? Well, it went okay for about 25 minutes, and then my old inner knee pain started to flare up again. I stayed on the bike paths close to my house so I didn't have to negotiate any hills, and I must have gotten passed by every runner out there, even the old men. Extremely depressing, but I didn't even mind until my knee started to bother me. Luckily I was almost home. I got on the bike for awhile when I got back and caught most of the coverage of the women's Olympic marathon. I felt so bad for Deena--what horrible timing for an injury.

Matt went to the office this afternoon, so I entertained myself by doing a lot of ironing that had been building up, taking a nap and going to exchange some towels at Expo. When I came home, I decided to go to the Bethesda pool for a swim. The lap pool was super crowded--everyone has Olympics mania! I didn't swim very long but it was fun. I'm not in swimming shape to really call it a workout, but I can tell you that my shoulders are already sore!

I can't believe there's only a week left of the Olympics. I'm going to enjoy it while I can!
