More gym tourism
Another city, another gym. I woke up to a beautiful (and cool!) morning in New Hampshire and it totally killed me to have to get in the car and drive to the nearest gym--which wasn't all that close. (There is actually a treadmill here in the house where we are staying so I may take advantage of that this weekend too.) I had to go about 30 minutes into Dover and I passed several runners, walkers and bikers taking advantage of what I hear was the first non-rainy day in a long stretch. I got my fix inside at a decent gym called Planet Fitness. The day pass fee is ridiculous though and obviously aimed at people who are thinking about joining (it is refundable if you join) and not out-of-towers.
If the gym wasn't so far away, I would have done more than my treadmill run (3 miles) and biking--I wished I could have lifted a bit--but we are "on vacation" and I didn't want to spend it all inside. The run went pretty well but I did have a few twinges from time to time. The rest of the workout was fine and by the time I got back, several hours had passed and I felt like half the day had too.
But we had plenty of time left and for relaxing and even a little lake swimming (well, just out to the dock a few feet away to sunbathe) and I realized that my cold is now on its way to being completely gone. Tonight we all watched the Olympics, which was fun and made me look forward to seeing it in HD when we get home! The prime-time coverage is hard to tear yourself away from, even when you know it is late and you should be in bed. Which is exactly where I am going now!
