It's August
The start of August always fools me into thinking that the end of summer is approaching. Not true in terms of weather--in fact, we are probably about halfway through the uncomfortable months, which according to me are May-early October. Nevertheless, we're inching closer to fall so I've got to be happy about that!
Not that I had to suffer in the heat too much today. I was on the bike in the morning, watching the second-to-last installment of "Hopkins" and then some more "Tori and Dean" (I have eclectic tastes, what can I say?). My knee felt a little sore today but I wasn't too worried because I knew I didn't have a run planned.
Our office closes at 2 on Fridays in August, which is a nice bonus. Of course, most of us were still there when 2 rolled around. My co-worker and I went to get pedicures after we had wrapped things up and then I tried to get a hair cut but they were booked. I was getting really hot walking around Bethesda so I decided to go home, change into my bathing suit, and go for a swim at the pool near us. My lack of recent swimming fitness was completely apparent but I made it through about 30 minutes without drowning! The lap pool wasn't too crowded at that hour and admission is only $5, so I was pleased with my spur-of-the-moment decision!
Happy weekend to all!
