Physical evidence
This morning I actually had company on my run--I was very nervous about this prospect but a neighbor (and friend of a friend) emailed to ask me if I wanted to join her for a run on the CC Trail. I had no idea about her pace (nor did she about mine) but it actually worked out fine at the pace I'm at right now. We did an out and back run and chatted almost the whole time. It brought back nice memories of social runs although the inside of my knee was still bothering me a bit. When we stopped for water, I put my leg up to stretch it and we both noticed that it was quite red in the area between the inside of my calf and my knee--sort of near the pes anserine bursa, if I've got my anatomy correct. It wasn't hot to the touch or anything, but it was weird since I do have discomfort in that area. It went away quickly after I got home (I biked a little bit too) but it is something that I will have to keep an eye on.
Matt and I did some around-the-house things for a few hours today and made some progress on things. Then we had to make our weekly pilgrimage to the neighborhood hardware store (hopping on weekends) for various odds and ends. Then there was a trip to the grocery store (me) and some work in the yard (Matt) and finally I was back home and pretty tired. I thought about getting on the bike again, but I got on the couch instead and fell asleep. Guess I needed it.
I made some pretty good gazpacho tonight (if I do say so myself) and served it to my running partner Camille who I haven't seen in ages--she came over for dinner. It was fun to catch up. Now I'm really ready for bed. Here's to another week (almost) in the books!
