Back to reality
This last week has seemed really long, because we had so much going on with the move. I can only imagine what it felt like for the track (and swimming) athletes who competed all week long in the biggest races of their lives! We just watched the conclusion of the track trials and although I loved the coverage and was glad to have a "track week" on TV, I am bummed because I know that it's hard to get the same saturation with the Olympics since there are so many events and such a big time difference between the U.S. and Beijing. But I'm sure I'll be tuning in as much as possible.
We both go back to work tomorrow, so I've been kind of dreading getting back into my old routine. But it was another weekend day, so I used the extra time this morning to go to the gym where I ellipticalled and then lifted a little. Nothing too exciting to report. I played around with the elliptical settings a lot because there are so many different levels (incline and resistance)--I prefer the ones with fewer options! I worked out hard enough so that I was out of energy for too much lifting after that.
The rest of the day was errands (Bed, Bath & Beyond for the second time in 4 days) and catching up on email from the past week. I got in a tiny bit of biking but our dinner guests arrived a little early and I had to jump in the shower earlier than expected so it was cut short. All in all it's been a good long weekend and I can only hope that things at work won't be too crazy!
