Girls and their knees
I just read this great article, which will appear in Sunday's New York Times, about the mystery of why girls suffer more knee injuries than boys: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/11/magazine/11Girls-t.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&hp. . It's obviously a subject near and dear to my heart (although it focuses mostly on ACL injuries) but I'm sure anyone with an interest in sports and health would find it interesting.
Speaking of knees, mine were feeling pretty good this morning on the bike and I got a good workout in on the trainer. I am back to doing as high intensity workouts as I ever was on the bike--or at least close--and am encouraged by that. I watched another "Dexter" and some of last night's "Real World." The usual for me.
I had a meeting downtown in the afternoon so I went to the gym nearby. I used an older elliptical (which I actually like better) and then I lifted. It was much cooler than the Bethesda gym with all of its HVAC problems; otherwise, things were pretty much the same.
It's almost Friday!
