Burnin' up
I had a bit of hard time sleeping last night because of my sunburn. I kept waking myself up every time I tried to turn over. It occurred to me during one of those wake-ups that lifting in the morning would probably not be so comfortable. Hmm....
Fast-forward to the morning. I had to do all my working out in the morning today because although we both had the day off, we were invited to a Memorial Day barbecue in the afternoon. So I headed to the gym and stayed long enough to do everything I wanted. I had a really good elliptical workout (very comfortable, knee-wise) and then switched to the bike until I felt I had sufficiently sweated for the day. Then I switched to lifting/abs mode, where I realized that my sunburn was going to cause problems (it didn't bother me before). OUCH! My skin is all stiff and burning, so my flexibility was definitely compromised. I did what I could and considered it a blessing in disguise that I would have almost 24 hours until my next workout. I really hope it starts to feel better soon! I have definitely learned my lesson on sunscreen.
We had a nice time tonight at our friends' house and we got started pretty early so it wasn't a late night. It doesn't feel like a "school night" but I know it is. In fact, I have an appointment in the morning before work that I am totally dreading--the periodontist for a gum problem. Yuck! What a way to start the week...at least it is a short one!
