R&R: Day 3

I was very productive today. I woke up right around the time Matt woke up, even though I was working from home today, and didn't even fall asleep once during the day. Although I'm still limping around, there's no need for crutches anymore and I even ventured out around the corner twice--once for a sandwich and once to pick up something at the little grocery store (I got so bored that I even baked. I think it's time to go back to work...if not yet working out.)

I made an appointment to see my knee doctor on Friday this morning, but then he called later in the morning and said I could come in at 8am on Thursday. Hey, I'm not going to be working out, so why not? It will be quicker anyway because I'll be one of his first appointments. He did talk to me a little bit about the surgery, reiterating that there was a lot of "wear and tear" on the cartilage and that while this will probably help me in the short term, we need to talk about longer-term solutions.

Like I have been the past couple of days, I'm somewhat amazed that the day went by pretty normally without my workout security blanket(s). If I continue to "be good," though, there's a chance I can bike on the weekend! A girl's gotta dream.

Glad to hear things are going well! Do you still go swimming? I wonder if that would be gentler than biking during your recovery?
