Another rainy Monday
I wasn't the only one who commented today that last week began on a similarly rainy note. It ended up clearing up tonight with a beautiful pink sky, but the dreariness all day made me sleepy. My time on the bike this morning went pretty quickly because a) I woke up late and b) I started watching a movie--"Sherrybaby", an independent film with Maggie Gyllenhaal from a couple of years ago. It's about a young mother who is released from prison and trying to reconnect with her friends, family, etc. Not exactly an upbeat picture, but quite engrossing. I also tried getting out of the saddle a few times and it felt better than the last time I tried, which is encouraging. Kind of hard to do though without being clipped in--I will try that this week.
I had a bunch of meetings this morning and then spent the rest of the day trying to get a whole lot of emails out. By the end of the day, I couldn't wait to get up from the typing position. It wasn't really raining then and I had a nice walk over to the gym, where I did my usual routine of biking and lifting. Everything was pretty much status quo. When I got back to my locker, I discovered that my phone had died--I think something is wrong with the battery--so Matt and I had a challenging time meeting up. Eventually we figured it all out and unexpectedly ended up grabbing a bite to eat near Matt's office. A more exciting Monday evening than planned but definitely a good one.
