The countdown begins
I guess spring is a popular time for knee, shoulder and back surgeries. I finally got a surgery date today and it isn't until May 15. Now that I have made up my mind, it seems so far off. But judging by how quickly the last couple of months went by, I think the date will be here before I know it. It is a Thursday so that will be good since I can take Friday and the weekend to recuperate. Our anniversary is that Friday so Matt will have ample opportunity to demonstrate his commitment to me.
I will keep doing what I am doing for the next seven weeks and try to do a little running if things go well--what else can I do? I know it is important to keep doing my strengthening stuff in the gym and I am pretty confident I can keep that up with the hopes that it will make my recovery a bit easier.
As for today, I rode the trainer in the morning ("House" and "The Hills") and felt rushed the whole time because I got up a few minutes late. Although sometimes I feel like I have a better workout when I am conscious of my time. My knee felt pretty much the same as always; not too bad once I warmed up. And after work I hit the gym for a little stationary biking and lifting. I just felt kind of off the whole time--I don't think I ate enough during the day. We had a few delays on the way home and didn't end up eating until about 10--I sure was starving by then!
