Rude awakening
I had a very weird experience last night. I think I must have been having a nightmare and I woke up with my knee and hip killing me. The next time I woke up, it was because my alarm was going off and I was all disoriented and shut it off. Finally, I woke up with that feeling that I had overslept--and I had. It ended up okay because I didn't have to be at my conference until mid-morning, but I was all discombobulated. I hopped on the bike for a quick workout, dashed to the post office to pick up some stamps, and before I knew it it was time to leave.
Three of us from work are attending this conference, a gathering of health journalists, and one of the sponsors is Georgetown so I saw a lot of my old colleagues already today and expect that I will run into a few more before the weekend is over. I spent most of the day in sessions and all of them were pretty good. It's always tough to lose a weekend of freedom but I am hoping that I will get a few hours to myself on Sunday afternoon--we'll see.
