One foot in front of the other
For all my fans out there, I just realized forgot to publish yesterday's blog entry--it was sitting on my computer, neglected. Sorry about that. As for today, the exciting news is that I did a little bit of running, but I can't really tell how it went yet--that will have to wait until tomorrow or the next day. I had a decent amount of time to bike in the morning after getting up reasonably on time. More "House" was on the agenda and I enjoyed my episodes as usual. My knee felt very normal. I had hoped to run a little before biking, but I hate feeling like I'm rushed when I am trying to gauge how I feel, so I thought I might have time this afternoon.
Work has become very busy all of a sudden, now that I am more or less caught up to speed on things. I like it that way but today was one of those days when you blink and it is 4pm. I am already looking forward to the weekend, although I have work to do on a project that I am doing with some old Georgetown colleagues.
It was really nice out--sunny and about 60--on my walk to the gym, so I decided I would put my stuff away and then venture out. The gym is very close to the Capital Crescent Trail--a relatively flat part of it--so I thought that was a good idea. I did a bunch of ~3-minute run/walk intervals. I was wearing shorts I don't usually run in, and they were riding up all over the place and really annoying me. As for my knee, well, it didn't hurt in "the spot" but it was a little stiff. In fact I was just stiff in general...I was almost embarrassed to be out there on display for everyone to see, but that was overshadowed by my happiness to be outside. When I got back to the gym, the knee was a little tender, although not (yet) where it has been, which might be good. I biked for a few minutes and then lifted. We'll see what happens in the next couple of days. Even a few minutes of running once in awhile is a treat for me right now!
