Biking in the rain
We ended up playing a fierce game of Scrabble with our friends last night, so we didn't get home until about 12:30. I tried to get up on the early side but I must have turned my alarm off instead of snoozing and it was almost 9 by the time I got up. I was thinking of trying a few minutes of running before getting on the bike, but it was raining already and I decided that maybe I would have a chance to do that later (which I did). Usually Matt is sleeping while I'm biking, but he woke up right as I got on the bike and was waiting for me to be done to have breakfast. I made it through an episode and a half of "House" and a couple of "In Treatments" before I started feeling guilty, and my butt was killing me. I felt fine, knee-wise, although my cold is now in my nose and I was very sniffly.
My afternoon went by really quickly because I cleaned and then I fell asleep on the couch for a couple of hours. Matt went to get a hair cut and I thought about joining him, but decided to take my books back to the library/try a little running. I had the books in my backpack but they weren't too heavy. I did a few run/walk intervals of 2:30, and the inner knee pain did not bother me. I did have some tightness behind my knee, but that's pretty normal. The worst part was that it was raining on and off and super windy the whole time. But I was relieved that I am making progress--at least for now. I am going to give myself one more chance to progress after this latest setback and if not, then I think it is time to go in there and see if there is a tear.
We have a fundraiser tonight for Children's Hospital that a bunch of people from Matt's company and the real estate industry in general are going to. I don't particularly feel like getting dressed up with my runny nose, but it is a casino night so hopefully it will be fun.
