(Weather) highs and lows
It was already in the mid 60s when I woke up this morning. Today was a biking day for me, but I did open the windows and turn off the heat, so I guess I took some advantage of the February warmth. The projected high today was around 74, which surprisingly is not a record for D.C., but I have yet to check to see if the record was broken. In any case, I sure was hot while biking, as evidenced by the sweat puddles I left behind. Luckily it all stayed on the mat under the bike. I watched two episodes of "House" and although they were both pretty good, I felt my mind wandering a lot. Matt and I both had the day off today (although he has been at work since about 1 pm) and he slept soundly through my workout.
After Matt went to work, I got all ready for my trip to Atlanta. I haven't taken a business trip in a really long time--probably since I went to the 2003 Red Cross convention in Indianapolis. This one shouldn't be too stressful, but traveling always stresses me out a bit, and especially the fact that this job is so new. I'm going to listen and learn (on Tuesday) and to be a media conduit (on Wednesday). Hopefully it'll all go smoothly, and if I can, I am going to try and have dinner with my aunt, uncle and cousin who live down there. I don't know Atlanta well (nor will I have time to see much except for hopefully on foot) but I do have a fondness for it because that's where the Indigo Girls hail from.
I went to the gym this afternoon to lift. I was surprised at how crowded it was, but then I remembered that everyone had the day off today. I did what I needed to and now I have a good buffer for the next couple of crazy days.
