Low energy day
Boy, was I dragging today. Actually, the beginning of the day wasn't too bad, it just sort of went downhill from there. I got myself out of bed with just enough time to get in a shortish but still quality workout on the bike while watching "House." It was warm enough last night (new record) that we didn't sleep with the heat, so that made the temperature in the apartment a lot more comfortable for exercising.
Matt and I commuted together this morning for the first time. We took the Metro and it was very windy on the walk there, but nice not to sit in traffic. I spent the day at work mostly trying to educate myself about various projects and initiatives that I will be involved in. I took a break at lunch and sat in a cafe where every conversation around me seemed to be about politics, or more precisely, the presidential election. I know I live in Washington, but that was a new one for me (seeing as I have spent barely any time on Capitol Hill).
I was tired leaving work and I knew it wouldn't be a good workout. I was right and I felt like I was moving at half speed. Eventually I just gave up and went home. Some days are like that and I know I need to take the good with the bad, especially as I get older (and busier at work). But I was surprised because I tried to eat well today, and it just seemed like I ran out of calories! Ah well, every day is an experiment!
