Cold out (but I was in)

For the most part, this has been a mild winter (I knew I jinxed myself in early December when I wrote something about hoping that our first snow wouldn't be our last), but there have been some crazy temperature fluctuations. On Saturday, it was 60 degrees, but this morning, it was in the teens. I was nice and warm (hot, actually) on the bike, but last night we could hear the wind howling and walking around in it on my commute was not pleasant. I watched a couple of episodes of "House", one of which former "Felicity" star Scott Foley, who I like. "House" isn't good for my medical paranoia, but I do get absorbed by it when I watch on the bike. My legs felt how they always feel on the bike, which is okay, I guess--no major aches and pains and I had no problem doing some hill climbs.

The cold weather was definitely a topic of conversation at work today--why doesn't anyone want to talk about how hot it is in the summer? (Okay, maybe they do, but not in that recoiling, fearful way people talk about wintertime temps.) Anyway, I was inside for 90 percent of the day so I was just fine. By the time I walked over to the gym after work, it was in the low 30s and the wind had stopped. I had a productive gym session and tried to do a little extra lifting because I don't think I will be able to go tomorrow evening. It is possible, but much more difficult, for me to go to the gym during lunch now that I've changed jobs, so I'm trying to be a grown-up about it. We'll see if I can convince myself!
