An okay run, for a change

I somehow woke up before 7 this morning and noticed that I hadn't set my alarm--very lucky or I probably would have still been sleeping at the time I was supposed to meet Camille in Georgetown. She ended up being a little late herself, and I definitely didn't mind the few extra warm minutes in the car. Actually, it was quite mild today (low 50s) but not in the morning.

We had a lot to catch up on because Camille had gone back to Jamaica (where she was born and lived until high school) last weekend for the first time in eight years. Plus we hadn't debriefed on the Superbowl (she's a big fan) or my new job yet. So the run went by quickly and although I was creaky/stiff the first couple of miles as usual. I actually warmed up pretty well and managed to finish the run feeling decent.

We hung around most of the afternoon until I ventured out to Whole Foods and spent about 20 minutes just sitting in packed parking lot waiting for a spot to open up. You'd think they were giving away food, which is very far from the truth! The crowds inside weren't as bad as I anticipated, but it definitely took longer than it should have.

I went to the gym briefly to lift tonight because my schedule will be a bit disrupted this week with my business trip to Atlanta. I will hopefully be able to get a quick run in before the meetings start on Tues. and Wed. at an ungodly hour but who knows what else. As I did last week, I will try to be an "adult" about it.
