New shoes, same knee
I don't have any idea why, but I've been feeling less rested than I want to be and than I should be based on the amount of sleep I've gotten this week. I woke up wanting to go right back to sleep but after a few snoozes, I finally got out of bed and on the bike to finish Season 2 of "The Office." (Or maybe there is another DVD to go, I'm not sure.) Although the back/outside of my knee pinching that bothered me yesterday was better this morning, my knee was a little swollen near the IT band insertion point. I'm thinking it might be due to things moving around after the SYNVISC injection, but whatever the reason, it didn't feel too great and I avoided climbing and just tried to maintain a steady pace. I used the new shoes I got at the bike store the other day and they felt good, although the cleats Matt picked up for me are single-release and I need to get used to that as I had multi-release before.
My knee has been feeling better throughout the day and I iced it too so I hope that the trend will continue. It is supposed to be quite cold this weekend and I will be grateful for the opportunity to brave the weather, but it may have to be a biking weekend. I hate playing it by ear but that's what I've gotta do.
Happy weekend to all!
