Glad to be out there

I wasn't sure if I was going to run or bike this morning until I got out the door. I definitely woke up feeling more rested--partially because Matt turned off my alarm and I just let myself wake up naturally, which I hardly ever do--which was a good feeling. My knee, or really the area right above my knee, was still a little puffy and stiff but I figured I'd run a mile, see how I felt, and then come back in to bike if need be. It was hard to tell at first but happily things loosened up and I was able to do one of my usual routes with no ill effects afterwards (just the same stiffness, at least so far). It was nice out--chilly but not cold like it is predicted to be tomorrow morning (Accuweather is predicting a real feel of 9, so I am going to have to get out my Boston gear). I struggled with the last hill but otherwise felt okay and was relieved that the run went better than I anticipated.

When I got home, Matt was working out on the bike, which was great. We ate breakfast/brunch and then I did my usual Saturday morning cleaning. In th afternoon, I drove to Leilani's new house--about 45 minutes west of me in Virginia--to hang out with her for a few hours. Now that she's five or so months pregnant, she's not running a whole lot and neither one of us are able to make it to the Saturday Long Runs. It was fun to catch up and she even accompanied me to Lowe's to buy some fluorescent light bulbs.

I was tired from all the driving (although not really that much!) when I got back and I think I am going to be content to have a quiet night in tonight.
