Free day

As my favorite Scrabulous opponent reminded me, today was my first day in my limited run as a lady of leisure. I start my new job next Tuesday, so it's not as if this is going to be a permanent thing. But I enjoyed sleeping in a little and then being able to get a few things done. I went for a run first, and had that weird feeling back in the side of my leg, kind of like a muscle weakness. Stretching it helped a little, but I'm thinking this might be due to something I'm doing on the bike since that's all I've done for the past few days. Ironically, my knees felt fine. I am really tired of feeling so out of shape on every run, too. I would love to just get back to a decent level of fitness so that my runs are more enjoyable! It was nice today to run when the sun was fully out instead of just coming up! But on the flip side, I had to stop at many more lights and intersections.

I had lunch plans with a friend from grad school who is leaving on Saturday to spend the next six months in Namibia for work! I will really miss her as we try to hang out every two weeks or so and we always have fun. I warned her that I will probably be in a bad mood when she gets back because it will be July. :)

After lunch I had a dentist appointment to get my permanent crown put on. However, the dentist was unhappy with the level of detail on the crown and sent it back and put the temp back on. I understood but I was kind of annoyed because that means that I have to come back in two weeks and my new job is nowhere near there. But it's not the end of the world.

I did a couple more errands (grocery shopping in the middle of the day is amazing! so efficient!) and then came home. I didn't feel like lifting today because I pulled an ab muscle last night so I rode the bike while catching up on the latest season of "Real World/Road Rules Challenge." That's actually a good show to watch on the bike because it is so action-packed!

Matt has a cold/flu thing so I am really hoping it is both short-lived and I don't catch it just in time for my first week of work!
