Easing back into things

Since yesterday's run went well, I decided not to test fate and to bike today. Plus, when I woke up, I heard the guy on the radio saying it had been 18 degrees when he left the house this morning. Granted, it was probably into the 30s by the time I would have been going out, but considering I am still coughing a little, it was probably for the best that I stayed in.

I haven't finished it yet, but I started watching Michael Moore's "Sicko." I guess I missed it when it was in the theater. I generally think Moore is a sensationalist, but he has a talent for taking topics that are dry on paper (i.e. health care) and making them come to life. I expected to be shocked by the stories he told, and I have been so far. In the midst of hearing about people forced to choose between having a middle or a ring finger reattached, I was able to (finally) do some hill climbs again without pain. I think it was a decent workout and hopefully I can finish the movie tonight.

I lifted at lunch today since this is a week of holiday parties and tonight is my office dinner. I cautiously did some squats and other leg-strengthening things and they felt okay...not amazing, but I really want to get back to the level I was in terms of leg strength before this latest setback. I felt a little rushed, but overall I was efficient and got in a decent workout.

Off to dinner!
