Halfway to Friday

It was definitely shorts and sports bra (I wore a long one) weather out again this morning. Apparently the people that I saw in heavy winter gear are going by the calendar and not the actual weather! They were probably thinking the opposite about me. Instead of sticking to my usual Wednesday route, I mixed it up and did a figure-eight sort of thing that involved the path along the Rock Creek Parkway and a long but gradual climb up Mass. Ave. My pes did not bother me too much today but I still had issues--stiffness and crackliness--that probably mean there is some internal swelling going on (pretty common with cartilage problems). I actually made an appointment for a second opinion with another orthopedic surgeon who doesn't have the reputation of the one I've been seeing, but who was listed on my running club's "medical directory." I am so tired of running with pain/discomfort virtually every day that I think if I get another pro-surgical opinion, I might just suck it up and go that route in the hopes that rehab will be uneventful.

I lifted at lunch today (a little rushed, but pretty much got in a good circuit) because I have plans with a friend tonight. We are going to see "Lars and the Real Girl." I don't know much more than what I've read in the reviews, but it looks like a quirky independent film and I usually like those. If I remember, I will report back tomorrow!
