Good marathon weather
Even though I wasn't in New York this morning OR running a marathon, I thought about those who were and was grateful for what must have been almost perfect marathon weather, since it was pretty close here in DC. I was also grateful for the extra hour of sleep--I actually woke up without my alarm and was on time to meet Camille in Georgetown. We did our usual Sunday loop although by my calculation, we were about 2 minutes faster than usual today. I had tired legs from yesterday's hills and was hurting a bit at the end, but my other aches and pains were silent, for once. It was a nice run.
I was very proud of myself for finally cleaning the oven today. And it is a self-cleaning oven, so it didn't require too much work. I spilled something in there a few months ago and was waiting for a cool day to clean it since it makes the apartment hot. It worked and I was able to finally use the oven again tonight! (I made lasagna.)
In addition to the oven cleaning, I also read and did a tiny bit of work this afternoon. Then I went to the gym to lift since I am going to a public health meeting tomorrow and Tuesday and getting a second workout in will be really challenging. (The meeting is downtown.) I am looking forward to the meeting but, as always, I am stressed out by the thought of breaking out of my routine. I think I'll survive, though!
