Early run

I didn't go to bed too late last night, but it was a struggle to get out of bed and out the door by 6ish. It was a little chilly but as we all know, I prefer that. (Except it is less pleasant when you first start running and you just want to get back in your nice, warm bed.) My choice of routes today was not the smartest. I knew I didn't want to do my usual Friday route because there is a part that would be dark, but I ended up running in another part of Rock Creek Park that was dark. More than anything else, I was afraid of falling. I went very slowly and carefully on the few parts that were extremely dark, and breathed a sigh of relief when I made it back to the lighted world unscathed. I was actually pleasantly surprised today that running up Mass. Ave. (a gradual hill that I definitely run down a lot more often than up) was actually comfortable. The run actually went by quickly and I even made it to this breakfast seminar on time.

The seminar was really good--and sponsored by the organization I worked for right out of college--so although it took all morning, it was time well spent. My co-worker and I were excited to be downtown and grabbed lunch at one of my old haunts before we had to head back to the boonies of Georgetown. I spent the rest of my day working hard and trying to get stuff done in anticipation of my being out of the office half the week at a public health meeting (here in town).

My tiredness is definitely hitting me now. We are going to dinner with Matt's aunt and uncle and cousin who are in town visiting his other cousin (our usual Sunday night dinner guest) in a little while so that should wake me up.

Happy Trials/NYCM weekend...I can't wait to see what happens!
