Still hot, but getting better

Today was a "hurry run." I seem to have one (or more) of these each week--I wake up a few minutes late and am in a rush to get as much running in as possible in a very limited amount of time. Actually, today my goal was only about 5 miles, so it wasn't too bad. It was still pretty muggy out but the word on the street is it's going to get much better tomorrow (or tonight?). I did my Ledroit Park/Howard loop but mixed it up by going the opposite way around Fort McMillan, which I think is a water treatment plant but I call it a reservoir. It separates Howard from a medical area that includes several large hospitals and trauma centers. It's a funny area that I never knew existed until a few years ago--I believe it is right on the border of the NW quadrant of the city (where I live and work and spend 98% of my time) and the NE quadrant. (Just a little trivia, but I enjoy running in places where normal life doesn't usually take me.)

In any case...my knee was a little bit achy in the kneecap area but I was pretty satisfied. I wasn't going very fast, but I expect that these days. For a hurried run, it wasn't bad.

I went to the gym at lunch today because I have dinner plans with a friend tonight and I didn't want to be rushed (again) at the gym before that. I biked and lifted as usual, but I did the leg press machine, which is a little new for me. I have still been avoiding lunges and stuff that seem to put all the pressure on my pes/inside knee...I think it's for the best to give it a little more time.
