New shoes

I gave my leg some TLC last night--used the heating pad and then the foam roller while my muscles were still warm--and finally put on my new pair of sneakers to run this morning. I could still feel that the area where everything (hamstrings, quad, etc.) comes together was tight, but it was a little better and I had an okay, if extra slow, run. I did my Cathedral-Georgetown-Rock Creek Parkway loop which doesn't involve much uphill after the initial climb up to Cathedral, so maybe that helped, too. It was pretty humid again--what happened to the nice cool mornings we've had recently?

This morning when I was walking from the parking garage to my office, I tripped over something (probably my foot) and totally wiped out. All I can say is I am really glad that no one saw it happen, because generally there are a lot of people on that part of campus! I managed to cut my (good) knee, bruise the other one, cut my ankle in two places, and scrape my hands. Talk about embarassing. Luckily nothing is too bad and all the scapes and cuts were pretty superficial. I was really glad I wore a long skirt today.

I had my community med school course tonight so I lifted during lunch. I wanted to do legs, but I didn't because I think I should take it easy on my leg. I biked for a bit and started a new book and then did some upper body stuff. When I got back to my office, I was all hot and sweaty from the (5 minute) walk from the gym. I want real Fall!

I had a couple of errands to do after "school" so I didn't get home until 9:45. Matt has a few friends over playing poker and I can barely keep my eyes open so I am hiding out in the bedroom. On that note...I think it's time to go to bed.
