Moving in the right direction

My ability to do a decent job on this blog post might be hindered by the fact that I am feeling really lazy and also really hungry with no exciting prospects for dinner. Despite the fact that I live a five-minute walk from tons of places, I am enjoying sitting on the couch too much right now.

So anyway, I had a decent run this morning with less knee pain. I'm probably jinxing myself but I just need to take it day by day and see how I feel. It was quite humid today and it is supposed to be worse tomorrow (but maybe better on Sat.?? I hope so). I did a lot of my run on one of the bike paths that connects the Zoo with Rock Creek Park and it was either dark or shady, but I did get pretty hot on the last, sunny stretch. Instead of doing the steep hill I usually do with this route, I did a more gradual one. It's a good one except for the fact that it is heavily traveled in the morning as it's a shortcut into and out of the Park. In any case, I am always thrilled when I figure out new routes and the distance is about right.

I had tentative plans with a friend tonight so I went to the gym at lunch (nothing too exciting to report). The plans ended up falling through so I am taking that as a sign that I should use the extra free time not to do laundry or iron, but to relax and watch "Grey's" since I missed it last week!
