Jinxed
I'm not going to write about how I've had some good runs in a row anymore because I jinxed myself and had some knee discomfort this morning. I think I irritated the patellar tendon by doing some VMO strengthening on a new machine, because it was bothering me almost from the beginning. Nothing unbearable or even that painful, but of course anything with my knee gets me upset.
On the plus side, it was pretty cool outside and although I was a little overdressed in a t-shirt, I was fairly comfortable in that department. I did my Cathedral-AU-Vice President's Residence route. I headed out about 10 minutes early because I needed to pick up snacks for a morning meeting and I knew I was on time when I heard the VP's motorcade instead of seeing it (I was almost home when I heard it). I was kind of bummed about my knee when I got back and I did the best 5-minute stretching I could and iced it when I got to work. Hopefully it will be a little less angry tomorrow.
Tuesday is my Mini Med School night so I went to the gym at lunch. They must be working on the lights or something because about half of them were out and it was strangely dark. But not too crowded so I was able to efficiently get done what I needed to.
Tonight's med school talk was on hypertension, not something that I have personally dealt with (although I think my mom has it) so I was a little bored. I did learn that salt in our diet may not be as important as people previously thought--some people tend to be more sensitive to it than others. That is my educational tidbit for the blog entry!
