Another wet one

I could not believe that it was raining again when I woke up! Actually, I didn't think it was because I didn't hear anything, but when I went outside it was sprinkling and seemed dark so I decided to run back upstairs and get my hat. It wasn't nearly as heavy as yesterday but there were slippery leave and puddles everywhere so I'm surprised I didn't fall. I ran by the zoo, which was much quieter this week (maybe the hyenas don't like rain?) and up that longer, gradual uphill, which felt easier this week. Once things loosened up and I settled into a pace, I felt pretty good today. It has always taken me a long time to warm up and I need to remember not to judge a run by the first mile.

I went straight to an off-campus meeting this morning but after that was pretty much back at my desk working nonstop on a document we needed to have done by "close of business" today. As much as I hate the pressure of a deadline, it does feel good to have accomplished so much at the end of the day.

The gym was even more crowded than usual. One guy tried to take a plate off a machine I was working on while I was taking a drink of water. I don't think he realized that I was there, but it was still annoying. I did my thing (bike and lift) and got out of there, only to just make the bus as it was pulling away and it was so full that I had to stand on the steps. I made it home safe and sound though for my reunion with Matt (he'd been away since Sunday night). Since we missed our Sunday HBO shows, we're hoping to catch up on those tonight!
