A real fall day
Today might have been the first long-sleeve day of the season, with temperatures in the low 40s in the morning, but I was inside on the bike. I just have to be confident that there will be more of these days, although I heard that it is going to be 80 or something tomorrow after it was only in the 50s today. It's the fluctuation that drives me nuts. Anyway, I digress as usual about the weather. My bike workout was fine, I was able to really push it on some climbs and I hope that my legs aren't heavy and tired tomorrow. I caught up on last week's medical shows ("Grey's" and "ER") although having to fast forward the commercials is really annoying. I wish I could just do it mentally. Or get DVR, which is more of a possibility.
Several people asked me if I ran the marathon yesterday (Marine Corps). I wish. And a lot of people told me that the women's winner was a Georgetown grad. Of course, I knew that she is not only a Georgetown grad, but she is former Foot Locker national champion Kristen Gordon with a new (married) name. I actually used to see her running, not really that fast, around my neighborhood in the pre-Boston days in D.C. Good for her!
When I approached the only available bike at the gym tonight, I could tell that the guy next to me was going to be an open-mouth breather. Sure enough, he was stinking it up and I just tried my best not to breathe in though my nose too much. Yuck! My neck and shoulders are a little sore today, and I'm not sure why considering I haven't lifted since Thursday. Maybe I slept funny or maybe it's from the bike? Anyway, I tried not to irritate it but we'll see tomorrow.
