Blisters are back

Another cool morning...phew. I think it is supposed to be humid again starting tomorrow. I drove to Georgetown to meet up with Leilani and Rob for a run. I hadn't seen them since my birthday in June so it was good to catch up. We didn't go too far--about 5.5 miles out and back on the Canal--but the pace was honest, I think, and my knee felt pretty good. But of course, I had another issue: the instep blisters from my orthotics. I hadn't been wearing the left orthotic for weeks because it irritates my instep more and I've built up a pretty good callous on the right. However, I think the uneveness of only wearing one orthotic is causing issues...so I've begun the process of callousing my left instep. Yesterday it felt okay, but today, I think it must have been all the pebbles on the Canal that made it worse. I know it will eventually get better and I won't get the blister every time, but for now, it kills!

I was near the gym after we finished running so I went there to bike a bit and shower. For some reason, I got really low blood sugar after about 10 minutes and felt awful. I ate an energy bar and lasted another 25 minutes or so, but that feeling never totally goes away until you have a real meal. I couldn't wait to get home to eat more.

I spent most of the day working on a presentation that I'm giving in a med school class in a couple of weeks. It took me awhile to get started, but once I did, I ended up being pretty productive. We grilled and ate outside again tonight since it was so nice out. Tonight I biked for a little while while watching "Tori and Dean: Inn Love" and now we are enjoying a non-work Sunday night!
