Another gray day

When it's below normal August temps around here, the runners go crazy with their long sleeves and pants. Of course I would never even think about wearing that many clothes unless it was the dead of winter, but today I fell into the trap too and wore...a shirt (instead of just my sports bra and shorts). I ripped it off after about 15 minutes, of course.

I felt pretty good today. I did the loop that incorporates a big, gradual hill, which I've been doing about once a week, and while I was still crawling, I felt a touch stronger and was able to maintain more normal biomechanics which prevented my knee from bothering me too much. Lately, when I'm not too tired I'm able to run efficiently (or, at least, more efficiently) and my knee knows it. But when my muscles start to rebel--even when I'm still feeling okay cardio-wise--my knee feels it.

I think I made it to work in record time today. I was running late as usual so I caught the bus instead of walking to the shuttle stop and for once there wasn't too much traffic. My walk-bus or bus-bus commute is usually met with at least a few delays, so once in a while it is nice to make all the connections.

I had PT this afternoon and we worked on getting my femur to stop rotating inwardly like it wants to (it does this on both legs) and on my posture a bit. My PT pointed out that I do weird things with my shoulders/arms and I flashed back to the first time I realized I had awkward posture and carriage: learning the violin for the first time in third grade. Some things will never change and I just have to adapt!

I had a lunch meeting and didn't get enough to eat so I knew I wouldn't be feeling so great at the gym. I did the bare minimum and even that was sub-par. I know my body too well!
