For real Friday
This has been such a weird week with the Wednesday holiday. It kind of felt like two short weeks, especially since we were so busy with our media coverage. I must have turned the volume on my clock radio down, because I woke up when Matt's alarm went off. I got up a little later than I had planned but it wasn't too bad. I had planned to do a "regular" run, which for me right now is about 40 minutes. I felt okay when I started but my kneecap (right in the typical patellar tendonitis spot, which I have not had up until now!) started aching. Being the stubborn person that I am, I pressed on as the pain was not getting worse and finished the run. I'm thinking that maybe my knee is learning not to turn in (making the inside hurt) and is now just feeling some more typical aches and pains for someone with no cartilage? It's really day to day with me and I am just so tired of not knowing what each run will bring. I will be sure to bike tomorrow and hopefully that'll help if any of this is due to the exercises I did in physical therapy on Thursday.
I made my (not so) triumphant return to the dentist this morning to resume my epic cavity fillings. I hadn't been in about six weeks due to various factors but mostly because the dentist canceled on ME twice! He had a hard time numbing me completely today and I had to get tons of Novocaine...I couldn't each lunch until almost 2, and even that was just frozen yogurt. And yup, I've still got two more cavities to fill and possibly a crown (or two). Fun times, but if there's a bright side, I've gotten braver.
I was glad the numbness wore off by the time another camera crew came to interview our newly famous doctors. This time it was a news service that is dubbed in many different languages and sent out all over the world. Cool.
Matt is working late again and I should be productive by starting to pack for our trip or something, but I am comfortable here on the couch reading US Weekly. I anticipate a hectic weekend of visitors, packing and planning so I'll allow myself a few hours of relaxation tonight.
