Fast Fourth

I felt like today went by really fast, although I think that is because I'm used to having two "weekend" days and this was only one. I enjoyed sleeping in and my leg was feeling pretty good so I set out for a short run. It was pretty nice weather and once the initial starting-out aches and pains subsided, I felt all right. I got passed by a woman at one point--there were lots of runners out today--and did my best not to speed up and try and catch her. Actually, I don't think I could have, and I just need to be okay with that right now.

I biked for a bit when I came back, and by then I was really hungry and craving a good breakfast/brunch. I made us multigrain waffles with this really good blueberry syrup from Trader Joe's. They were great, if I do say so myself!

I did a couple of errands and some planning for our trip next week and then jumped on the bike to finish up the episode of "Big Love" that I had started in the morning. Then we went downtown to have dinner with some friends on the roof of their apartment and to (later) watch the fireworks on the Mall from the roof of an office building that Matt's company owns. It was the best view of the fireworks that I've ever had and it wasn't as hard to get back as we thought it might be. Too bad it's a work day tomorrow again but it is almost Friday!
