Fake Friday
It's only Tuesday, but you could tell by the lighter traffic and lighter moods that tomorrow is a holiday. I met Liz, in town for a few days, for a short run and I was definitely sucking wind, especially when we were going uphill. My knee felt okay; not great but status quo. It wasn't hot but definitely more humid than yesterday, which had been predicted. We ran for about 30 minutes--having company always makes the time fly by--and then parted ways and I rode the trainer for a while while watching "Big Love."
I was kind of busy at work but I managed to get a decent lunchtime lifting session in so that I could be free for Take-The-Interns-to-Happy-Hour. I did all my lower body things and some new things with a Thera-band, and whatever upper body I had time for. Shortly after 4pm, everyone began packing up and my boss and I took our two interns to a fun Mexican place in Dupont Circle. I rewarded myself for all my hard work during the long week (hah!) with a frozen margarita...yum. I'm such a sucker for frozen drinks, whether or not it contains alcohol. (I would have enjoyed a Peach Pleasure smoothie from Jamba Juice just as much.) The interns left before we did, but I think they had fun while they were there.
Although I have a lot of little things to do tomorrow, I can't wait to at least sleep in a little.
