Yeah, yeah, yeah
It's hard to come up with catchy blog entry titles or pithy entries when you are stuck cross training. I did my thing this morning in the gym, although I did not feel as comfortable on the elliptical today as I did yesterday--i.e. when I moved my leg a certain way, I would get a sharp pain on the side of my knee--so I switched to the (stationary, not spin) bike. Some people have told me that they can't get a good workout on those bikes, but I can. You just need to go pretty hard and not zone out. I did allow myself to read for the last bit of the workout because my cadence was falling off considerably despite attempts to keep up "the pace."
I iced my knee after the gym and that seemed to make it feel a bit better. I took a walk at lunchtime to get a sandwich (it takes about 15 minutes to walk to this one place I like, and it was sunny but not too hot) and I was walking a little gingerly, but not feeling too bad. When I was lifting tonight, I was careful not to do any leg stuff except I thought that hamstring curls would be okay because when I did the motion just sitting on the bench, I felt fine. But the second I locked that thigh pad into place and started to bring my leg back--ouch (side of knee)! So that leads me to believe that something I did on that machine may have led to this...even though I've been doing the exact same routine for nearly a year now. Weird, but these things happen to me. Hopefully I'll continue to make progress with the knee this week, but I'm not holding my breath.
