Sucking it up=ellipticalling
My legs felt a little better when I woke up but I knew I should be mature and cross train today since I've been having little niggles. I realized it's been a long time since I went to the gym before work. It is definitely a lot easier to just run from home. But once I got out the door it was fine, and walking down to the bus I noticed that behind my knee was definitely less stiff and sore. Of course, when I got on the elliptical, my other ("good") knee was hurting, kind of IT band-ish. I am just getting old, I think, and that is my knee reminding me not to ignore it when I give a lot of attention to the other one.
As long as I'm complaining, I'll mention how hot it was in the gym today. But I suppose a lot of sweating makes me feel like I got a good workout in. I mostly stayed on the elliptical but I did do a bit of biking as well. I did not clip in though so I would not be overtaxing my hamstrings.
I am blogging early today because I have plans tonight to see a free screening of "The Waitress" with some friends. I have been wanting to see it since it opened at Sundance in the winter. I am a big Keri Russell fan (harkening back to her Felicity days, of course) and there is also a lot of interest in the movie because the director was killed last year by a construction worker in her New York City office. Anyway, I lifted at lunch so that I would be free for tonight--got most of what I needed to do done--and I will report back about the movie tomorrow, as long as we get in to the screening!
