Weather even I can like

Although the advent of spring means that the most dreadful hazy, hot, and humid weather is only a few months away, I have to say that I am enjoying my first spring back in D.C. after a couple of years. We had some pretty trees in the courtyard outside our Somerville apartment building, but the cherry blossoms, magnolias and dogwoods that have bloomed this week are really beautiful. There are a lot on the Georgetown campus and on my running routes so I have been noticing. Plus, the weather today was awesome, sunny and in the low 60s, so it never got too hot. I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

My hands were a little cold on my run this morning but otherwise I did not mind that it was a little chilly. I did my usual Friday route and was glad to note that my "bad" leg/behind the knee stuff is finally feeling almost back to normal. My other side-of-leg stuff still bothers me now and then and I can't seem to pinpoint the spot to get at on the foam roller. Ideally I'd like nothing to hurt, but today was definitely the best run I've had all week.

Hopefully a good run today doesn't mean a bad one tomorrow--I am intending to run with the running club, but I will probably end up on my own because attendance will be light in anticipation of the Cherry Blossom Ten Miler here on Sunday. I have never had a good race there so I don't really regret not being able to run it...but I am going to try and watch a bit of it on Sunday.

Happy weekend to all! And go Hoyas!
